Moxa heat therapy
During a treatment with moxibustion, acupuncture points are stimulated with heat. This pleasant heat penetrates the body through the acupuncture points and strengthens the Yang, i.e. cold and dampness are driven out of the body in this way and the Qi (energy) is moved.
I use the following forms of moxibustion:
- Moxa cigar: burning of dried leafy material of Chinese mugwort (Artemesia argyi or A.vlugaris) formed into a roll.
- Moxa patches: these are coated with Chinese medicinal herbs that produce a heat reaction.
- TDP heat lamp for flat treatment without smoke.
- Infrared moxa device for spot treatment without smoke
